For a long time I tried to define the reason why I keep shooting until today. It's not about admiration or client's payment. And it's not about self-assertiveness.

Photography is about the mystery of being able to freeze time. And it's about desire to find out what you've managed to capture, thrilling you until you develop the film of or pull the images up on the computer.

How Photography Can Help to Review your Lifestyle

But at first you need to know that it ain’t easy and we’re not going to kill them. I’m talking about some photo shooting and how it can help you to review your lifestyle.

We spent couple of days with my wife’s parents in other town to see them and have some rest, and just change everything for this couple of days.

It’s nothing special until you make it special, doesn’t matter if you go to the Moon or Alaska or a nearby town. So I really tried to do what I don’t do at all or very frequent. I watched TV and especially ads almost all day long, I was eating much and I was shooting much more than I usually do.

How do you find the best deal

It’s not hard to lure in birds in winter and make them fly and fight in front of your window but it’s hard to make at least a couple of good shots.

Those tomtits were really fast and I made over 150 shots in five minutes. But then it was time for sorting them out. I always do the following to find out which images are the best.

I just look them through and delete every one that looks bad in comparison with others. Then I do it again and again, and again. Sometimes there’s only one shot left. But it is the best one.

The same was this time. At first I left 70 images, then 40, 15 and finally 6. But what does it have to do with my lifestyle?

What does it have to do with my life?

Our life is like shooting. It’s very hard to take a good shot from the first attempt. Almost impossible. Sometimes you need to give it a hundred tries until you hit the jackpot.

Very soon it seems like it doesn’t worth shooting when you try to get a good picture of that landscape for hundred times already. So you leave it and say – impossible. Then comes another photographer and gives it 101 tries. And his last one appears to be outstanding. And he says – hard and interesting.

Sometimes you just need to keep trying until you achieve what you want. Because if you say – impossible, there will always be another guy who will come and try until he’ll succeed.

If you like to shoot you know that process of taking pictures is about shooting the same object with hundred of different settings and at different angles until you get what you want. So if it’s worth it in photography why shouldn’t it be the same in your life?
